When you're white and you're female, you can carry a longsword down Bay Street, a few blocks from the nation's financial district, and the only person whose eyes focus on it will be the woman panhandling in front of the coffee shop. It's like magic.

	I managed to take a whole bunch of swords (at least a pair? I think I had more) on the subway (I think it was to the thing we did for the video at Hart House) and no one commented. One subway employee was looking, but his expression said more: "I want to ask if I can play with one." than "I think that's a threat." Dressing in tweeds might have helped. (Reply to this)
